Nelson is a Senior Editor at High Gear Media focusing on reviewing cars and covering the hottest topics in luxury and performance cars, car culture, and breaking news primarily on High Gear's luxury destination, MotorAuthority.com. Born and raised in California but now transplanted to Arkansas, Ireson has a law degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and is accredited to practice in the state, though he’s voluntarily inactive. Nelson also holds a degree in Speech Communication from Arkansas State University. His path to the automotive world wasn't a direct one, but his love of cars, speed, and driving ultimately won out. When he manages to come up for air, Ireson is reviewing cars, driving them fast at road courses and autocrosses, navigating rallies, or working on making himself and his car faster.

  • 2017 Mercedes-AMG E43 first drive review

Big Gulps. Animal Style. Smothered, covered, chopped, and chunked. America's shameless and torrid affair with the over-the-top isn't limited to food. When it comes to luxury and performance cars, we like them big and brawny, too. Alpha-numeric sequences like CTS-V and E63 and M5 activate overworked...

In a billionaire’s playground a $201,000 supercar is an inexpensive toy, but you can’t measure the fun of the new rear-drive Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 in dollars. In fact, if anything, less is more with the new entry-level Lambo. How is it that a spin around a rarely-used Moto...

  • 2016 BMW M2 spy shots and video

The new BMW 2-Series is one of the many culprits of the brand’s confusingly revamped naming system, but that doesn’t stop it from being a very fun little luxury sports coupe—particularly in M235i form. Soon, however, the most potent version of the 2-Series should be on the road...

While there’s plenty of reason to doubt the factuality of the Devel Sixteen’s claims of 5,000 horsepower, we now know, at the least, that it’s not total vaporware. It has been spotted out and about on a beach near Dubai. MUST WATCH: LaFerrari Nearly Powerslides Right Into Oncoming...
