The humble headrest is an oft-overlooked aspect of your car seat but it can be vital in reducing whiplash in an accident. In those first miliseconds during a crash your head is propelled forward by the force of an impact, then recoils backwards. In a rear-impact, your head is thrown backwards. With no protective rest behind your head in...

Star Of Honda Ad Gets Lousy Deal From A Honda DealerWe tend to think that company spokespeople get a better deal in showrooms than the rest of us. For example, GM gave Tiger Woods a free ride -- many of them, in fact -- when he was Buick's shill. And although we can't say for sure, we have to believe that Mike Rowe gets more than a firm handshake...

Half the fun of driving the Honda Civic Si or its true sports car stablemate, the S2000, is the high-rpm engagement of VTEC (yo!) and the surge of power that comes with it. It's not an ideal flat torque curve that delivers the goods; it's the rush. But that may change for the next-gen Civic Si. The latest on the Web is that the 2.4-liter K24 from the Acura TSX, or a powerplant very much like it, will get the job of pulling the next Si around. That would mean a boost of about 30-40 pound-feet in torque, as well as a flatter curve, but it won't likely rev as high, and total power output is...

Honda enthusiasts have become accustomed to a regular 5-year refresh cycle for the company's passenger car lineup. This generally gives Honda enough time to work out minor bugs, and refine new design features. By the end of the cycle, many customers should be ready to make a trade-in for an updated model too. It appears that the global auto maker will be stretching the length of that cycle by a year or so for the next Civic. Last refreshed in 2005, the the current model Civic will celebrate it's 5th birthday this year. It's expected to reach the ripe old age of 6 before retiring. A new model...

Honda is currently prepping an even higher performance version of its European Civic Type-R that’s set for release in the UK in the third quarter, with other markets to follow shortly after.
