It seems Ferrari F40 owners are keen to move a few units as of late. One of the grandest supercars of all time has been popping up in a number of auctions recently, and we say that's a good thing. Perhaps some will wind up in the hands of folks looking to peel off a few more turns on the odometer. It's more likely though, that these are investment pieces finding new caretakers. This particular example shows just over 7,500 miles on its odometer and it's interior is pretty spartan. Also, it's an insanely gorgeous 1990 Ferrari F40 and it's prepped to sell at the upcoming RM Sotheby's auction in...

First Porsche 901 Cabriolet Prototype to be auctioned offLong-time Motor Authority readers know the story of Porsche and its 901. The plan was to graduate from the design designated 800-series cars and move into the 900 range. The first car was the 901, which was shown at the Paris Auto Salon in 1964. Peugeot didn't take too kindly to that number scheme...

We’ve seen a lot of crazy automotive creations over the years, some of which worked and some of which didn’t. We’re no fans of the Smart ForTwo, but cram a Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle engine in a Smart and we’ll arm-wrestle you for the keys to the SmartBusa. We’ve long lusted after cars like the Renault R5 Turbo and the Ford SHOgun, knowing full well that we weren’t crazy enough to park one in our own garage. One question that’s never crossed our minds, however, is, “what would happen if you mated a BMW Isetta micro car with a dragster?”...

Ferrari’s 250 GT series debuted at the 1956 Geneva Motor Show, bodied by Boano and for sale to the public for homologation purposes. Racing versions of the car, known as ‘berlinettas,’ were bodied by Scaglietti using thin-walled aluminum, minimal interior appointments and plastic windows to save weight. The 250 GT Berlinetta models could be broken down into further subcategories, including long wheelbase variants (now largely referred to as “Tour de France” models) and short wheelbase variants, all of which were built in 1959 or later. The Tour de France cars can...
