Porsche wants to "Revive the Passion" for its classic cars, and it's using its restoration and antique maintenance arm, Porsche Classic, to turn up the heat. The end result will be a fully restored 911T Coupe to be given away to a Porsche Club of America member. Seen above in its rough starting state, the 1973 911T is already under the knife, getting its original shape and panel gaps restored. Though it still looks like a patchwork of parts, the stripped shell will eventually be one of the most pristine examples of its vintage on the road. Hit the link below for Porsche's in-depth photos and...

Video: Getting Sideways In The AMG GelaendewagenBuilt for cross-country duty in a terrifically, angularly Tuetonic way, the G-Class, and its sportiest variant, the G55 AMG, is no exactly the first vehicle you'd think of when you think "drift." And this wet roundabout isn't exactly the forum for real drifting, but the quantity of opposite lock...

Video: 2011 Ford Explorer Serves As Snowboard RailIt looks as if the 2011 Ford Explorer may have won its spot at the top of the 2011 North American Truck of the Year awards by maxing out the points in a category none of the other trucks were ready for: Snowsports Preparedness. How much more fun would this be (to watch, at least) if the Explorer...

Video: BMW M Customers Visit 'Area 51' Test SiteThere aren't any aliens at BMW's "Area 51" test site in Miramas, France, but you won't be disappointed with what is there, should you get the chance to go. Instead of UFOs and crates full of little grey men, the Miramas site holds the testing grounds for cars like the M3 GTS and M3 GT4. And once in...

2011 Detroit Auto Show Celebrity Sightings (And What They Mean For You!)Pundits say that the economy is on the mend and that customers want to spend. (Sadly, they don't often say it in rhyme.) But while the recession may be behind us, there's still something not-quite-right about this year's Detroit Auto Show. Sure, we've seen fog machines and the mandatory strobe...

Now that the confetti has settled (and the stomachs, too), it's time to get down to serious business: psychic predictions for the coming year. We brewed ourselves a pot of coffee, blended in the dregs from the vuvuzela that doubled as a champagne flute on Friday night, and chugged it with a couple of day-old Krispy-Kreme krullers. The visions came fast and furious: 1. Lady Gaga shelves her singing career, changes that coif from tennis-ball-yellow to Barbi-Benton-brown, and becomes a diplomat for the U.S. However, she remains popular for endorsements and serves as spokesmodel for the all-new...

Sometimes you just need to kick back, let your digital hair down, and watch a video. Here are the five you watched most in 2010. First up, we have the Hennessey Venom GT...

Mexican Drug Wars Spiking Armored Car Sales?Crazy as it sounds, it looks like the heavily-armed (and apparently armored) Mexican drug cartels, bent on cowing or overtaking the government, are actually doing a morsel of good amidst all their evil: boosting armored car and SUV sales. The news, fresh out of Mexico City via Reuters, reveals that...

Drumroll, Please! The Top 10 CelebsAndCars Posts Of 2010It's hard to believe that another year has come and gone. It seems like just yesterday we were writing about Lindsay Lohan's trip to rehab, and now, we're writing about...well, Lindsay Lohan's return to rehab. There's something comforting about that consistency, don't you think? And so, in the...

Video: LS1 Miata Burnout Leads To Forum SmackdownCram a big 'Merkin V-8 into a lightweight roadster? Classic formula. Use said roadster to produce clouds of power-induced tire smoke? Just as classic. Getting beat down on a car forum for street racing and acting like a fool? Instant classic. The holiday week hasn't been too kind to Miata.net forum...

The holiday weekend saw most of the Northeast draped in a blanket of snow, perfect for unwrapping presents and singing carols--but not so awesome for getting to work on Monday. Not that we're complaining. Snow days are also the perfect opportunity for some opposite lock. These five videos show you really can drift just about anything, and the rally videos even show how it's done properly. Lessons learned: when in doubt, stand on the gas, throw the wheel the other direction, and curse--preferably in Finnish. Here we have a semi tractor rig showing that big girls can be just as much fun as the...

Snoop Dogg, Bret Michaels, Now Answering Your Questions About...The Ford ExplorerLast time we saw Snoop Dogg, he'd rented a battalion of Packards for his wife's 35th birthday party. Last time we saw Bret Michaels...well, we haven't actually seen BM around here, though we did catch him taking a spin at the Tonys. Apparently, both have recovered well enough to help shill the 2011...

2011 Chevy Volt Auction Hits $225K; Ferrari Would Be Cheaper, GreenerWhoa, wait, what? A $225,000 2011 Chevrolet Volt? It's true: the first production example of the extended-range EV was up for auction to benefit charity, and it managed to go for the princely sum at the close of bidding today. While that's a nice gesture, we'd rather have a Ferrari. That's a mighty...

Diego Dolls Aren't Carpool Legal, DummyWeird and wacky news isn't solely the province of Florida or California, though they certainly have significant market share. Seattle, Washington made a bid for front-runner status today, with one commuter strapping his kid's Diego doll into the passenger seat to fool carpool lane restrictions on a...

Beyonce, George Clooney, Joey Lawrence: Our Celebs-Gone-Wild Week In ReviewSome weeks, it's like Hollywood has gone into hibernation -- there's nothing going on, not even a LiLo drunkfest, which basically means that everyone's either in rehab or on vacation. (Or both.) Other weeks, every administrative assistant ever voted off a reality show is simultaneously pulled over...

Dear Hollywood: We demand that you cease and desist directing, producing, promoting, or in any way encouraging Adam Sandler to appear in more "bro-medies". We don't think that "bro-medies" is a real word -- in fact, we hope it's not. We just dreamed it up to describe whatever Sandler's been doing since Punch Drunk Love. It is not an especially accurate term, nor is it clever. In fact, it makes us feel a little dirty and a lot nauseated. Much like I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Speaking of I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (nine words we have NEVER strung together), we must also demand...

EPA Says: 5,771-Pound Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Is A Compact CarThe U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is on a roll of remarkably nonsensical declarations of late, not least of which are the "mpg" ratings for the 2011 Nissan LEAF and 2011 Chevrolet Volt. The latest, and possibly silliest, pronouncement: the 5,771-pound, 453-horsepower V-12 Rolls-Royce...

Which Is Faster: Golf Ball Or Lamborghini Gallardo? This unsual contest of speed between a golf ball driven by Stuart Appleby and a Lamborghini Gallardo ends with a result we wouldn't have expected, but we won't spoil it for you. To make things fair, the Gallardo was given a head start. It wasn't much of a head start, though, crossing the line where...

Video: OMG Fabio Is Alive And He's Hawking Electric CarsThe life of a model/actor is hard. "Oh, right", you say, "lying on a sofa and staring vacantly into a bank of cameras is way tougher than military service or manual labor or having no job at all." But hey, we've seen All About Eve and Valley of the Dolls and America's Next Top Model. Like Gina...
