For the second year in a row, the Ford Mustang has been voted the “Hottest Car” at SEMA. It once again edged out its Chevrolet Camaro arch rival, which was deemed the winner in 2011 and 2010. The annual award, dubbed the SEMA Award, recognizes the most accessory-friendly vehicle based on the volume of aftermarket parts exhibited for it. The winning vehicle is judged according to the number of customized versions on display, and the volume of parts and accessories fitted to the cars.
