Turbocharged four-cylinder goodness in a more compact, X-flavored BMW? Yes, please. At least, it sounds like a good idea--we'll have a drive report for you later this year, but in the mean time, we're looking forward to the new 2013 BMW X1, fresh from seeing it in the sheet metal at the New York Auto Show. With 240 horsepower in xDrive28i form and 300 horsepower in xDrive35i form, the X1 matches the X3 for power and configuration, and will likely match or beat it on the road in terms of acceleration and dynamics. Just a few years ago, Lincoln was the luxury brand for Middle America—a nameplate that was striving to follow some much-misunderstood definition of luxury that involved steakhouses and gated communities. Now instead, with Lincoln’s latest conceptual reboot, and cars like this completely redesigned 2013 version of the mid-size MKZ, it’s fresher, more modern, and back at the coasts and in solid Blue State territory, going after Acura, Volvo, and Lexus—rather than more traditional luxury brands like Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW—and looking beyond the Town Car...

So big glass roof panels are not all that special these days--though they are nice. But big glass roof panels that move this elegantly are few, indeed, and this one you'll find on the 2013 Lincoln MKZ. The video, released today by Lincoln, shows the retractable glass roof in action, gliding silkily open and closed. It even moves on its own, sliding forward eight inches at speeds over 40 mph to minimize wind noise and turbulence in the cabin. While we'll have to test it ourselves before we issue a final verdict, we have to admit, it looks slick in the video. Hopefully we'll get a closer look...

2013 Acura RDX first drive reviewIf you've driven the previous Acura RDX, you know the definition of compromise. While it was, in many ways, ahead of its time, the RDX was rough, balky, and awkward as much as it was peppy, fun, and high-tech. Times have changed. The 2013 Acura RDX doesn't look all that much different from the last...
