Audi first teased U.S. fans of its S5 coupe with an RS5 version at the Geneva motor show. Then, it waged a buff-book campaign to win more converts--and to make a case for bringing the super-powerful coupe to the States. The enthusiasts won, and now the RS5 is destined for Americans eager to get their hands on the 4.2-liter, V-8-powered RS5. Audi's offered the V-8 in the S5 before, but in the RS5 the eight-cylinder's cranked up to 450 horsepower--levels seen in the much more expensive R8 supercar. Audi's seven-speed "S-tronic" dual-clutch gearbox handles the shifting, and quattro...

Not only is the e-tron Spyder a convertible, but it’s also a conventional plug-in hybrid. It features a 3.0-liter V-6 TDI turbodiesel engine driving the rear wheels and twin-electric motors driving the front wheels. Peak output from the V-6 diesel stands at 300 horsepower, while...

Yesterday was my last day on the Fireball Run. Today High Gear freelancer Tim Healey takes over my seat in the Camaro alongside Joel to head for the finish line in Galena, Illinois and I sit in the Kansas City airport. I wish I didn't have to leave, but the keyboard calls with a French accent as the Paris Auto Show is already underway. The places I've seen (briefly), the intensity of the competition, and--most of all--the people I've met have made the past week truly memorable. I'd mention everyone who helped us out by name, but it would be nearly the whole roster. Thank you all. Tim is...

Easily one of the most dramatic vehicle unveilings at this week’s 2010 Paris Auto Show, the all-new 2010 BMW Concept 6-Series Coupe has made its official world debut and gives us a near-perfect preview of the design that will eventually feature on the upcoming 2012 BMW 6-Series Coupe. The latest concept, meanwhile, shows the classic features of all BMW coupes, with flowing lines giving rise to high aerodynamic levels. The design also fixes many of the problems with the previous model (the horrendous trunk treatment in particular) without looking derivative or taking the safe route. The...
