Just two months ago we reported that Jaguar was expanding its XK range with a new 3.5L V8 engine that would allow it to lower the entry price to the model significantly. The initial sales results are now in and the model has been so successful Jaguar is expanding it to the Cabrio model.

Despite the engine being a V8, it develops just 260hp/190kW, making it woefully underpowered compared to most other sporty V8 and even V6 engines. Still, at least it means the base model will retain the V8 purr Jaguar’s are most famous for. It's expected the 3.5L engine will remain an Europe-only option.

Despite Jaguar's financial woes, numerous surveys have placed it as the number one carmaker for customer service.
