  • Koenigsegg One:1 crash on the Nürburgring - Image via S. Baldauf/SB-Medien

A Koenigsegg One:1 moments ago crashed on the Nürburgring. Fortunately the driver walked away unscathed, but the 1,341-horsepower hypercar looks to be a total wreck. The crash took place at the Adenauer Forst section of the notorious German race track. According to our photographer, the driver came into the section with too much speed, slammed on the brakes and then slid off the track. The car eventually crashed through a barrier and into an embankment. The long skid mark that remains may indicate some form of mechanical issue, possibly relating to the ABS. Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] is hoping to deliver its first GT supercars to consumers by the end of the year, but the Michigan automaker says it isn't quite done fine-tuning the aerodynamics. In this new video, Ford shows us how it utilizes Wind Tunnel 8 at its Allen Park, Michigan, engineering facility to make the GT ever so slightly more slippery and to aid its high speed stability as much as possible. The film shows off the GT's active aerodynamics—specifically, its active rear wing that can change its position in order to provide more or less downforce in an effort to improve both...

Hennessey does what Dodge won't: Supercharge the Viper

  • 2017 Dodge Viper

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles [NYSE:FCAU] in June confirmed that production of the Dodge Viper would soon be coming to an end and that the 2017 model year would be the car’s last. No reason was given for the Viper’s demise but with sales slowing to a trickle (just 676 were sold in all of 2015) and emissions regulations only going to get tougher, it’s easy to connect the dots. We've also heard there are new airbag regulations that need to be complied with. The current Viper, the third iteration of the nameplate, was introduced for the 2013 model year and since then there have...
