  • Five-millionth Audi A5 is built

Since the introduction of the first Audi A4 back in 1994 (albeit the A4 is essentially the original Audi 80 renamed), more than five million cars bearing the A4 name have rolled off Audi production lines in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm in Germany. The five-millionth model was a ‘Misano Red’ 2.0 TFSI quattro model, which will be going to a customer in Germany. As mentioned, Audi began production of the A4 model line at its Ingolstadt site in 1994, and since 2007 has also been building the cars at Neckarsulm. Today the A4 Sedan, A4 Avant, A4 allroad quattro, S4 Sedan and S4 Avant are...

  • A Porsche Cayenne’s tire explodes when stuck in the mud

Here’s a clear example of what not to do when your luxury SUV gets stuck in the mud. After refusing the help of a truck driver whose vehicle can clearly tread through the mud safely, the driver of this modified Porsche Cayenne proceeded to floor the throttle in vain hope that his luxury SUV would gain enough traction to pull itself out of the soft mud. Eventually the stresses got too much for one of the Cayenne’s tire, which eventually gave way and exploded. The force of the impact managed to cause significant damage to the surrounding parts of the SUV and even set off its...

  • Porsche Panamera S

Rumors are loose on the German interwebs that Porsche is moving further from its one-time niche as a sports car maker into full-line status. To take the next step on that path, it may be working on a smaller Panamera derivative to do battle with the mid-range luxury sedans of the world. But our question is: where does that leave Audi? Reportedly code-named "Pajun" internally (short for Panamera Junior) the baby 'Mera is aimed about like you'd expect: four doors, a slightly smaller cabin and wheelbase, and a rumorific V-8 400-560-horsepower output, plus a 300-horsepower diesel. A V-6 model...

  • Oprah Winfrey's 1996 Bentley Azure

It's hard to think about Oprah Winfrey and motor vehicles without hearing THAT voice. You know the one: "And YOU get a car! And YOU get a car! And YOU get to pay tax on that car!" Sadly, in this case, you're NOT getting a car -- not Oprah's car, anyway -- unless you happen to be the mystery bidder who agreed to pay $67,900 on eBay for the Big O's 1996 Bentley Azure. On the off-chance that you are that bidder, however, you have our congratulations. The Azure is fully loaded (like its former owner), and it was listed in "very good" condition, although it looks better than that from the photos...
