It’s safe to say that we already know pretty much what the new 2012 BMW 6-Series Coupe will look like, what powertrains it will come with, and how much it will cost. However, we can’t be 100 percent sure until the car actually makes its official world debut. We can now report that the debut will most likely happen at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show this April. BMW used the recent 2011 Detroit Auto Show to unveil the new 6-Series Convertible so it’s likely the automaker will turn to China, potentially one of its most lucrative markets, for the debut of the 6-Series Coupe...

Video: Race-Exhaust BMW M6 Is V-10 Auditory Ecstasy
When you think of sweet-sounding V-10s, the natural tendency is to think of Lamborghinis, or perhaps the Dodge Viper, though tend to find its (brilliant) engine to sound a bit truck-like despite its face-stretching performance. But one car you probably don't think of is BMW's M6. That should...

The new 2012 BMW 6-Series Convertible turned out to be a no-show at this week’s 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show but that hasn’t stopped BMW from releasing full details for its luxurious new drop-top, which should go on sale early next year. While the previous generation 6-Series was by no means ugly, the styling of the new model is light years apart. A sweeping bonnet, set-back passenger compartment, long wheelbase and flat waistline embody the hallmark proportions of a BMW convertible. The stylish qualities continue into the interior, which is highlighted by the driver-oriented...

The Los Angeles Auto Show is in full swing and the smell of stale coffee and flop sweat fill the air. BMW has announced that it will voluntarily recall 198,000 vehicles for a potential brake issue. In affected vehicles—including BMW 5-Series, 6-Series, and 7-Series models, as well as Rolls-Royce models, spanning from the 2002 through 2010 model years—a vacuum leak might cause a loss of power-braking assistance. Even in such a failure, mechanical braking ability is still available, BMW says, and there's been no report of accidents or injuries. The issue only affects the above models when equipped with V-8 or V-12 engines. BMW will notify owners directly by mail in the next several...

BMW’s next 6-Series is just around the corner and while we can be certain there will be a new Coupe and Convertible, there’s a chance that the M6 variants may not make a return for the new generation. We know that BMW is working on a new high-end sports car based on its Vision EfficientDynamics concept car from last year that will take on the likes of the Audi R8 and a possible ‘baby’ SLS AMG from Mercedes-Benz, but it may also take up the place of the M6 in BMW’s new lineup. According to a new report, the M6 is unlikely to be replaced when the next 6-Series...
