The Blue Oval's newest pony took a huge leap forward on Sunday night with the reveal of the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E.

The 2021 Ford Mach-E electric crossover SUV will have up to 300 miles of electric range, sprint from 0 to 60 mph in mid 3-second range, and have all-wheel drive—although not all in the same car.

It will arrive late in 2020 with 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, an estimated EPA range of 211 to 230 miles, and a 0 to 60 mph in the mid-6-second range. It will low to high five-second range. It will be available with rear- or all-wheel drive, the latter of which ups the torque to 428 lb-ft and achieves the lower 0-60 mph time. Interested buyers can reserve one for $500 via Ford's website.

A step up will be the Premium model for $48,100 before the federal tax credit.

California Route 1 models will have additional equipment and start at $50,900. They'll offer only the long-range battery and rear-wheel drive and have a range of 300 miles.

The quickest Mach-E will be the GT model with 459 hp and 612 lb-ft. Priced from $60,500 before federal tax incentives or destination charge, it's the model enthusiasts will want thanks to its mid 3-second 0 to 60 sprint, standard all-wheel drive, and 20-inch wheels. Its range is an estimated 235 miles. It will hit the market in spring 2021.

A limited edition dubbed the First Edition will be priced from $59,900 with an estimated 270 miles of range, a 4.8-second 0 to 60 mph sprint, all-wheel drive, and 19-inch wheels. Three exclusive exterior colors will be offered including Grabber Blue Metallic. First Editions will also have interior contrast stitching, First Edition scuff plates, brushed aluminum pedals, and red brake calipers.

Ford said the Mustang Mach-E will be able to regain 47 miles of range with 10 minutes of fast charging on a 150-kw charger. It will offers lithium-ion batteries with 68 or 88 kwh of usable capacity.

The exterior of the Mach-E looks every bit inspired by the Mustang badge planted on the front. The LED headlights and taillights are nearly cribbed from the Mustang but feature their own distinct design elements. The roofline is fast and it will be interesting to find out how much head room is in the rear seat. A glass roof is standard on the Premium and California Route 1 trims.
