With the likes of a Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari FF, and even an Aston Martin One-77 joining the ranks of the Dubai Police fleet, it was only a matter of time until the world’s fastest car, the Bugatti Veyron, donned the outfit’s green and white livery.

This isn’t the record-breaking Veyron Super Sport, but with a top speed of 253 mph we doubt there will be many on Dubai’s roads capable of outrunning this ‘regular’ model.

Other cars in the fleet include a Bentley Continental GT, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and even a humble Camaro, but none of these come close to the performance--or price--of the Bugatti Veyron.

Costing well over a million dollars, depending on how it’s specified, the Dubai Police’s Bugatti Veyron is easily the most expensive police car we’ve ever seen.

But if you’re hoping to see some of the world’s fastest police chases, you’re going to be disappointed.

According to Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Chief Major General of the Dubai Police, the supercars will be put on display in areas heavily trafficked by tourists. Together with the local government, they’re hoping the attention will convince organizers of the World Expo 2020 to host the event in Dubai. Other countries in the running include Brazil, Russia, Thailand and Turkey.

Thanks J for sending in the tip!
