Heresy it may be, but we don't care. Not even a little bit. This (apparently Southern) gentleman with an LS7-powered 911 Carrera is our newest hero. As Hooniverse (via VWVortex's The Car Lounge) points out, the LS7 is not only more powerful and more American than the Porsche flat-six it replaced, it's also lighter. And it sounds fantastic. Check out the video for yourself--though you'll be as disappointed as we were that the car doesn't translate all of this awesome into violent, sudden motion.

2014 Porsche Macan Spy Video, 2013 MINI Countryman Coupe, 2012 Tesla Model S: Today's Car News
The 2014 Porsche Macan has been spied on video again, and we give you a good look (and listen) at what's coming to the world of crossovers. It looks surprisingly quick, sounds quite nice, and actually looks good--a bit like a compact Cayenne. The MINI Countryman Coupe should arrive sometime around...

Tanner Foust Trains Like A Fighter Pilot For Crazy Hot Wheels Double Loop: Video
Seven times the force of gravity, downward, will be required for the cars piloted by Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy to complete their largest-ever parallel loop at the Los Angeles X Games. To get ready, they've gone up in the air to see what 7g feels like. Spending a day getting their organs stretched...

Mercedes-Benz Giving Away Two Free AMG Driving School Spots
Whether you're an experienced amateur or a rank novice, there's a lot to be said for brushing up on your skills (or developing new ones) with a high-end driving school. Even if you're already happy with your current skill level, the chance to spend a day or three on track in some fast, expensive...

Win A Corvette 427, A Camaro ZL1, And Trips To 2013 Le Mans Or Indy 500
Free trips to some of the world's greatest races? Free sports cars? No gearhead/speedfreak/track rat in his or her right mind would turn such a thing down, even across brand loyalty barriers. That's probably part of the motivation behind Chevrolet's latest duo of giveaways. The other part is...

Continuing his somewhat unlikely but nevertheless awesome partnership with Hot Wheels, Tanner Foust is preparing to do something even crazier than his life-sized toy car jump: a parallel double loop-the-loop. Coming on the heels of Top Gear Live's successful sequential double loop-the-loop, the feat may seem a bit less awe-inspiring, but the teaser video has us thinking the comparison makes Foust's planned stunt look even more insane. The largest double-loop ever, at six storeys high, will require 7 g of force as the car's centripetal force drives it around the inner surface of the double...

Hyundai Genesis Coupe Outruns An Arrow: Video
Kudos to Hyundai for putting a new twist on the "can a car outrun this object" theme by outrunning an arrow with a humble Genesis Coupe--but pardon us if we take a closer look at the physics of this video before we go all googly-eyed. Most arrows from a typical modern compound bow will travel...

Take A Virtual Tour Of Mercedes-AMG's Affalterbach HQ: Video
With Mercedes-AMG dangling some very tasty-looking forbidden fruit in our faces in the form of the A45 AMG, we're currently feeling somewhat mixed toward the brand, though we have some hope for the CLA45 AMG--and we already know and love many of their other products. For those of you who aren't as...

Gymkhana 5 Coming July 9 To The Streets Of San Francisco
There's shark jumping, then there's Ken Block, which is something akin to a shark jumping a jumping shark, on fire, doing a powerslide. But hey, it's still fun--and it looks like Gymkhana FIVE is going back to its roots. Gone is the Hollywood-themed mega-spectacle of FOUR, replaced instead with the...

Hyundai Elantra GT Goes Zombie For The Walking Dead's 100th Issue At Comic-Con
Hyundai. Zombies. Comic books. What? We're not entirely sure what's going on here, but we kind of like it. In celebration of the 100th issue of The Walking Dead comic, the Hyundai Elantra GT will get a special wrap bearing the issue's cover art. Better yet, Robert Kirkman, owner of the Skybound...

Zombie Apocalypse Scion tC: Crazy Or Genius?
The Zombie Apocalypse/SHTF/Urban Assault Vehicle meme isn't new, but sometimes an interpretation comes along that stirs our interest. This is one of those times. Built by San Diego resident Wes, aka "SergeanBiscuits" on the ScionLife forums (found via Hooniverse), the car is conceived as an...

You've seen the move (in movies, at least) before: two cars are moving along the highway at high speed, when someone crawls out of one in an attempt to get to the other. If it's a hero at work, it usually succeeds. Here, it's not a movie, but real life, and the bad guys don't win. These Romanian crooks attempt a Fast & Furious-style heist on what appears to be a rather nondescript box truck after popping out of the sunroof of their tailgating car. After a few long seconds messing with the lock, they return to the vehicle, defeated. But whether their intentions were good (or not), you have...

Rallying A BMW 325i The Wrong Way With Chris Harris: Video
Chris Harris is often a bit of a polemic figure, whether the subject is Miatas or Ferraris. But sometimes he's just fun to ride along with. This is one of the latter. Deciding to go rallying with a £4,000 BMW 325i and an aging Range Rover tow vehicle, the whole thing was a budget endeavor in...

'The Avengers' Humvee For Sale On eBay
While owning a real military vehicle brings with it as many complications as compliments, owning a piece of movie quasi-history might help make up for some of the trouble you're sure to incur with this M998 HMMWV, or, as it's more commonly known, the Humvee--the "real" Hummer. No weak-kneed...

OK, so Ken Block's Gymkhana series doesn't pack quite the punch it once did, as it's been blasted everywhere and promoted to no end. The newness is worn off, and we've all had our fill of tire-smoking, powersliding rally cars. Right? Maybe not just yet. The "bonus edit" of Gymkhana FOUR: The Hollywood Megamercial does away with the glitz and glamor and gives us unfiltered, soundtrack-free, no-booty-shaking simplicity: a man, an awesome rally Fiesta, and a seemingly limitless variety of sets for hoonery. This one delivers.

2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Burnout: Video
Though we can't tell you what we think about how the 662-horsepower 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 drives just yet, we can share with you this video of the car converting motion into heat and smoke in the most classic of muscle car ways: the smokey burnout. Presented for your perusal is not just...

Audi R8 Drifting Behind The Scenes: Video
Celebrating Facebook fan milestones with videos of cars doing cool stuff has become a bit of a meme with carmakers of late, and we're not going to argue with it. Burning rubber on video is roughly 30 percent of what the Internet was made for. OK, so we made that figure up, but it sounds about right...

Hyundai Uses Dozens Of Monkeys To Test Durability
Weird, but true: Hyundai recently loosed 40 baboons on the latest Hyundai i30 hatchback. The i30 shares most of its essentials with the Elantra, though it's a hatchback in the case of the monkey-infested durability tester. Hyundai claims it's the first test of its kind by a U.K. manufacturer...
