Porsche’s latest 911 was one of the cars Chevrolet benchmarked when developing the C7 Corvette Stingray, but in reality the two cars are worlds apart. For starters, one has a V-8 engine mounted in the front while the other has a flat-six in the rear. There are also differences in the body, transmissions and options.

Then there’s the price difference, which can be quite substantial as pointed out in the latest comparo by British journo Chris Harris for his online video series--the Corvette costs as much as just the optional extras fitted to the 911.

We’re talking about a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray equipped with a Z51 package and six-speed automatic up against a 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera S equipped with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. How do the two cars compare? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.
