In June of this year Dany Bahar was fired from his role as CEO of Lotus following the results of an investigation made by the board of Lotus’ parent company, DRB-Hicom. Now Bahar has hit back by filing a claim against DRB-Hicom for wrongful dismissal in a Malaysian court. As part of the claim, Bahar is seeking 6.7 million pounds (approximately $10.6 million) in damages from Lotus, though no mention of his prized Esprit has been made. DRB-Hicom has since announced in a stock exchange filing that it believes it was acting properly when it made the decision to fire Bahar and that it will...

Few people know their way around the treacherous Nürburgring Nordschleife better than German race driver and TV personality Sabine Schmitz. She may have retired from 'Ring Taxi' duties last year, but during her career she's lapped the famous Northern Loop more than 20,000 times. We doubt too many of those laps were undertaken in electric cars like the Exagon Motors Furtive-eGT, however, but that doesn't stop Sabine sounding particularly impressed by what the electric sports car can do. First revealed at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the Furtive-eGT is an all-electric Grand Tourer, a car its...

Manual transmissions have been under fire for years now--something like 95 percent of average buyers don't want them, and that's making it harder and harder for the automakers to justify building cars with them at all, even for enthusiast-oriented models. But they're not dead yet at Jaguar. In fact, they're making a comeback. At least, that's the gist of a recent report from Car and Driver, which reports a source at Jaguar has confirmed the availability of a three-pedal setup for the upcoming F-Type sports car. An eight-speed automatic will of course be the most common equipment, but we're...

The car weighs just 2,380 pounds in total, yet it produces a heady 345 horsepower from its supercharged 3.5-liter V-6 and is capable of 0-60 runs in 3.8 seconds or less.
