Car rental giant Hertz rarely rolls out special edition models of its own but when it does the cars are usually rather special. Case in point is the latest Hertz Penske Mustang GT, developed with Penske Racing, which Hertz is a sponsor of.

Hertz’s special line of cars started with the 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350H, which today, like any classic Shelby, is a much sought-after collectible.

We can’t be sure if the latest Hertz Penske Mustang GT will be just as popular with collectors in years to come, but it certainly has a lot going for it.

As USA Today points out, the Hertz Penske Mustang GT starts off as a regular 2014 Ford Mustang GT which is then fitted with parts from the discontinued Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca. Penske then adds a custom air intake and exhaust system, a retuned ECU, new gear ratios, and uprated Brembo brakes.

Final power figures are yet to be released but the number is likely to be well north of the stock Mustang GT’s 420-horsepower rating.

The cars can be easily recognized by their distinctive black and yellow liveries.

If you’re interested, you can only rent one for now. The cars will join Hertz’s Adrenaline Collection of performance cars, which includes the likes of the Chevrolet Corvette and Dodge Challenger, and will set you back $180 per day.
