This sorry sight is the first wrecked 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat that we know of. Yes, it's the same lime green example that ran off a road in Colorado back in December just an hour after driving off the dealer lot. Now it's headed for auction so all those mad modders out there, or perhaps an existing Challenger SRT Hellcat owner looking for a source of parts, get ready to start your bidding.

Overseeing the auction is Insurance Auto Auction, which reports that the car’s 707-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 still starts. Sadly, it had only driven the car 64 miles before the crash occurred.

The damage to the front appears severe, and airbags for both the driver and front passenger have been deployed. We’re glad to report, however, that the car’s owner, 34-year-old Lance Utley, and two passengers with him at the time of the crash, got out unscathed.

The auction site lists the car as “not ready for sale,” so we still don’t have a date of sale. We do know that the car is located in Denver but anyone can bid as the auction site provides options for online bidding and even a quick purchase. Expect the going price to be relatively high because the Challenger SRT Hellcat’s mighty motor alone already has asking prices of around $17k, Allpar reports.

As we discovered during our time behind the wheel of the Challenger SRT Hellcat, the car delivers performance that will leave even those used to powerful cars awestruck, so this sad sight serves as an important reminder for buyers of such cars to always factor in their own skills and consider whether the cost of a performance driving course should be included before signing on the dotted line.
