Generally we'd be happy to take BMW's advice and skip the rather melodramatic Dont Blog About This site and concept, but a new video out today shows the car off in better form than ever. And with Paris just around the corner, it's probably worth taking a closer look. In the video we see a lot of the expected--LED lights, concept wheels, complex front-end treatment, and a very characteristically BMW shape. We don't see much that's unexpected, either, though the wider shots do give a better feel for the overall impact of the car. We'll have to wait for a better head-on shot to decide if the...

Video: Lunatic-Of-The-Year Mel Gibson Goes Into Hiding. In Victorian EnglandYes, that's Mel Gibson. Yes, he's wearing eyeglasses and a fake mustache. Considering all the hate being heaped on guy, he should probably be wearing a helmet and a shield and other junk they wore in Olden Tymes (we forget the terminology: we haven't been to a Ren Faire in years months), but maybe...

Video: Test-Mule For Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Successor SpiedIt seems like just yesterday that Ferrari's 612 Scaglietti was launched but it's actually been more than five years, which is why it’s not surprising that test-mules for the car’s successor are already completing shakedowns runs at the Italian automaker’s private Fiorano circuit...

Video: MINI WRC Countryman Caught Testing In PortugalSounding like a cross between a pissed-off jungle cat and a million-strong cloud of very angry bees, the MINI Countryman World Rally car was caught testing in Portugal this week by an amateur camera. The footage isn't all that revealing--no more so than the officially released photo--but it does...

Earlier this month BMW released a teaser video of a mysterious near-silent running 6-Series prototype and the smug remark, “don’t blog about this”. Of course, this only spurred on the media to hype up the prototype and like clockwork BMW has released even more videos and new images to help capitalize on all the buzz. The latest teaser video shows the prototype’s front-end, revealing a design very similar to the one seen on last year’s Vision EfficientDynamics Concept. The fact that it runs silently suggests that it is an electric vehicle of some sort, although...

Video: Gymkhana THREE, Part 2--This Time, With HoonageThe first part of the third round of Gymkhana videos was a bit of a disappointment for people interested in cars, hoonage, and general mayhem. This time around, there's no music video. Just a whole lot of smoking tires, turbo Fiesta growling and popping, and some fantastic camera work. We could...

Video: 2011 Audi A7 In SardiniaThere's not much mystery left to the 2011 Audi A7, but that doesn't mean we're not up for some slow-pan ogling of the car. One of the nicest and craziest guys in motorsports just laid down a record-setting run on his first attempt up the Mt. Washington Climb in Vermont. Pastrana got to the top of the 6,288-foot mountain in just 6:20.47, almost 22 seconds quicker than the previous record, set in 1998 by Frank Sprongl. Pastrana's average speed up the mountain was 72 mph, despite an average grade of 11.6 percent over the 7.6-mile course. The car that took him to the top? None other than his 2011 Red Bull Subaru WRX STI rally car. "This is an amazing road, it’s just so much fun," said Pastrana. "It’s...
