1,200-hp twin-turbo diesel truck defines tire roastingWhat happens when an old truck is tuned to make 1,200 horsepower from a Cummins diesel engine? Rubber is burned, and plumes of tire smoke are created. Hoonigan had Chuckle's Garage stop by with this monster: a vintage Ford pickup truck turned into a lean, mean, racing machine. As mentioned, it...

Hot rods are good for a couple of things: looking really cool, making the driver really cool, and doing cool things. They're just downright cool. One of those cool things hot rods do really well is performing incredibly smokey burnouts—this 1933 Plymouth sedan pulls the task off in spades. The driver stopped by the headquarters of the Hoonigan crew to show off the creation and spill a bit of knowledge on how the car came to be. It actually began life as a movie car and was featured in "The Great Debaters," a film from 2007 featuring Denzel Washington. Washington actually drove the...

How do you do a 4-wheel burnout in an 800-hp GT-R? Chain it to a truckAll-wheel drive is not conducive for a traditional burnout, but Hoonigan got creative to make it happen. Classic Camaro Burnout Is Slow, Sad, And Ends Poorly: VideoBurnouts are polarizing. Some folks love them, while other seem them as a way to waste money, rubber, and time. We here at MotorAuthority generally find them quite enjoyable, because we're children (both at heart, and mentally). Some burnouts, however, don't exactly get our hearts pounding. Take...

It’s probably not quite correct to call someone who just plunked down something likely north of $80,000 for a new Z06 “lucky,” but that’s sure how it looks from where we’re sitting. This owner at least returns that luck with the favor of a massive burnout right after delivery. ALSO SEE: 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Dyno Shows 585 HP At The Wheels What about the break-in period, you ask? Why do such a thing to a brand-new car? Yadda yadda. It’s his car. Let him entertain us. Why Yes, The Ford Focus Can Do A Two Minute Burnout: VideoIf you assume that a V-8 engine or even a lot of horsepower is necessary to do a proper burnout, you’d be incorrect. As this video demonstrates, all you need is a current Ford Focus, a set of cheap (presumably used) tires and a place to let it rip without police or fire department...

Every once in a while we get a vehicle in the MotorAuthority Garage that is just begging us to lay some rubber down. The 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is just such a vehicle, and we are more than happy to oblige. A quick refresher on the latest SRT8 to sport the Chrysler badge: Powered by a 6.4-liter V-8, the SRT8 is rated at 470-horsepower and 470 lb-ft. The power is sent to the rear-wheels through a five-speed automatic, though metal paddles do allow you to shift for yourself. While all this is fine and dandy, we know what you want: video of the burning rubber.

The...
