Nissan has handed over three 370Z coupes to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department to show its support for the men and women in service in the Japanese capital.

They feature a black and white livery as well as flashing lights, and if you look closely you’ll also notice the Nissan badge at the front has been replaced by the Tokyo police force’s shield.

The cars were specially prepared by Nismo using the 370Z Nismo as the donor. Under the hood is Nissan’s familiar 3.7-liter V-6 which in this application is tuned to deliver 350 horsepower.

Nissan provided the cars in response to a request by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department for an iconic car to help represent the department’s commitment to road safety in and around the city. It’s a similar strategy employed by the police in Dubai, although there the fleet is made up of exotics including the Bugatti Veyron and Porsche 918 Spyder.

The latest news follows an announcement by Italy’s Carabinieri earlier this month that it has enlisted a handful of Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglios in its fleet.
