The Porsche Macan Diesel will be coming to the U.S, the company confirms; Lamborghini’s Huracán isn’t just a much better entry point to the brand, it’s selling like hotcakes, too; and the even-more-powerful Ariel Atom 3S takes the naked sports car to new heights. It’s Motor Authority’s video news for the week of October 13, 2014.

If you’ve been aching for a medium-sized, diesel luxury SUV, Porsche may just have your answer. The Macan S Diesel will be coming to the U.S., the company’s North American vice president of marketing, Andre Oosthuizen confirmed this week. Packing a V-6 diesel with about 245 horsepower, and likely 400-plus-pound-feet of torque, the Macan S Diesel should bring an unusual blend of performance and economy to the luxury crossover world.

Lamborghini’s Huracán is off to a cracking start as a replacement to the aged Gallardo, racking up 1,000 sales in the U.S. and 3,000 globally in the first 10 months of the year, pushing the brand to what will be its best sales year ever in 2014. Of course, we already knew just how fun the Huracán is to drive, and anyone with a functional set of eyes can appreciate its beauty, so the sales figures just make good sense.

Finally, the Ariel Atom 3S made its debut this week, bringing even more power to the roughly 1,400-pound naked sports car. With a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder, the Atom 3S rates 365 hp at the crank and 310 lb-ft of torque, enabling righteous performance. Official figures haven’t been released yet, but traction willing, the Atom 3S should trounce the 2.9-second 0-60 mph time of the 230-hp Atom 3.
