Early on in the development of Jaguar's return to the true sports car market, we knew it was on to something. Then the C-X16 Concept showed us the rest of the way, and the production car's adherence to that form is nearly flawless. So good it racked up more than 2,000 orders before even going on sale.

Now, Jaguar's global brand director, Adrian Hallmark, says the F-Type has already sold out half of the first year's production, reports Automotive News Europe (sub. req.). That works out to about 4,500-6,000 cars sold, based on an estimate of the F-Type accounting for 15-20 percent of global sales of about 60,000 vehicles.

After spending time behind the wheel of the F-Type, and another 30 Days of F-Type coverage, we're still not surprised at the car's success. It's fun, it's fast, it's comfortable, and it looks amazing. What more do you want from a sports car?
