Photos Of The Week

BMW’s X7 has reached the pre-production stage. The full-size, 3-row SUV is still a year out unfortunately, but official photos released by the automaker this week give us a good idea of what to expect. Saleen’s S7 supercar went out of production in 2009, but the Californian company is building seven more examples with output pumped up to 1,300 horsepower. The announcement comes as Saleen prepares the launch of the new S1 sports car and kicks off a transformation into a mainstream brand for high-performance and luxury cars. Both models are shown here. This week we learned that Ford...

This Week’s Top Photos: the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show edition
Chevrolet’s new Corvette ZR1 was a showstopper. After all, it's the fastest, most powerful Corvette in the nameplate’s history, with its new LT5 V-8 spitting out 755 horsepower and 715 pound-feet of torque, or enough to see it hit 212 mph. However, we can’t help but feel the car...

Apollo Intensa Emozione, 2019 Chevy Corvette ZR1, 2018 Ford Mustang: This Week’s Top Photos
Fresh from its recent debut, Apollo’s Intensa Emozione was spotted this week running some laps at a very wet Cremona Circuit in Italy. Apollo wasn’t pushing the car to the limits. In fact, the revs were kept below 4,000 rpm. Nevertheless, the car still sounded like a beast. Full tilt is...

While arch rival Ferrari has shied away from electric mobility, Lamborghini is embracing it with both hands. This week the company demonstrated its innovativeness with the unveiling of an electric supercar concept called the Terzo Millennio. Koenigsegg finally eclipsed Bugatti as the maker of the world’s fastest production car. This week the Swedish supercar marque took one of its Agera RS models to a top speed of 277.9 mph to claim the record. Nissan’s GT-R isn’t quite the performance bargain it once was. Nevertheless, the car has just become a little more attainable thanks...

The SEMA show has come and gone for another year. A clear favorite this year was the 1972 AMC Javelin AMX built for Prestone by Ringbrothers. Its low, hunkered-down stance alone is enough to pique the interest of most muscle car fans, but this bad boy is also packing a a Hellcat tuned to deliver...

LS-based V-12, Porsche 911 GT2 RS, wide-body Ford Mustang: This Week’s Top Photos
Feast your eyes on a V-12 based on a pair of LS1 V-8s. This is actually the prototype of the engine which was displayed a year ago at the SEMA show in a wicked 1967 Chevrolet Camaro. The final version uses a custom one-piece block and offers outputs of over 700 horsepower without the need for...

Things are finally starting to settle in the halls of Messe Frankfurt after one heck of an auto show. Mercedes-AMG’s Project One was easily the show stopper. It’s very low and wide and from some angles you get the sense you’re looking at a Formula 1 racecar with a beautiful body draped over it. Then it hits you that you also have the powertrain of an F1 car residing within. This thing is going to be insane. Bentley used the show to introduce a redesigned Continental GT. The new model is a sleeker, sportier take on the previous-generation Conti GT which actually debuted more...

We spotted the 2020 Audi Q8 undergoing testing on the Nürburgring. Sized like the Audi Q7, the new Q8 has a fast roofline, a wide track, and flared fenders. Aggression apparently will be standard. Not that you would, but apparently you can take your McLaren 570 GT camping. Why? The better...

Aston Martin this week gave us our first look at its redesigned Vantage, which is due out later this year. As expected, the car looks very much like the striking DB10 developed for the James Bond movie “Spectre.” One of the cars we drove this week was the Audi RS 3. It’s a compact sedan with 400 horsepower on tap, so of course it's fast. We also spent some time behind the wheel of the Audi RS 7 Performance. This beast has 605 hp on tap, and it goes like a rocket. We're not sure if the extra performance—and fun—over Audi’s S7 justifies the price premium of...
