Part of MINI’s success in the United States is due to the fact that the brand doesn’t market its cars to consumers as much as it markets the MINI lifestyle. In that regard, a MINI Cooper (or one of its many variants) is as much a fashion accessory as it is a mode of transportation. Buy a MINI, and you can order it with a degree of personalization not often found below the ultra-luxury, bespoke level. In addition to the 14 exterior paint colors and 15 interior hues, there are six trim options, stripe packages, contrasting roof options, wheel options and even special editions to...

The Aston Martin Rapide S has just landed, though it won't reach our shores until next month at the earliest. Rated at 550 horsepower, the Rapide S is 17 percent stronger than the existing Rapide, which uses a 470-horsepower version of the 6.0-liter V-12 found in both cars. While it was certainly outshone by the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and even the Ford F-150 Atlas Concept, the 2014 Acura MDX Prototype garnered a notable share of the attention at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. That's remarkable considering the big-name unveilings it was up against, and it perhaps speaks well to Acura's future success with its redesigned full-size crossover. Sporting what Acura calls "Aero Sculpture" design language, the MDX's proportions remain fairly close to the last-generation model, though in every details, and in many of the more important statistics, it's definitely...
