This video, just uploaded to Porsche's Facebook page last night, gives us a quick primer on the 356 and its history in La Carrera Panamericana, one of the most famous of the classic endurance races.

This particular car is one of the five actual cars that raced the 1953 Carrera Panamericana, making it a rare and unique example even among finely-maintained 356s.

It's now a vintage racer with its new owner, winning the Monterey Cup at last year's Historics (now known as the Monterey Motorsports Reunion). It's a quick two-minute visit with the owner and the car, but it's well worth it if only for a glimpse of the near-perfect interior and the sound of its engine.
