A small American company has designed a two-seat passenger car that will achieve up to 330 mpg and sell for under $20,000. The lightweight composite, hybrid car will post this fuel efficiency in normal city and highway driving and demonstrate acceleration and handling similar to that of a Honda Insight.

It’s been designed to some amazing specifications, including:

• Less than $20,000

• 25HP DC Motor

• Regenerative breaking control

• Automatic CVT transmission

• 64-inch front wheel track

• 173in length

• Weight of 850lbs

• 0-60mph in 11s

• 95mph top speed (electronically limited)

• 330 MPG at 65 MPH

Aptera claims they’re very serious about building and selling this car, and we expect it to be an interesting sight on the roads when (if) it’s released.
