Bentley’s new 4x4, which is based on the platform that’s shared by the Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne, may be coming to dealers sooner than you think. The SUV will likely be called the “Cross Continental” and will sit at the top as the most luxurious of the SUVs. It will also possess the most expensive price tag to boot. Don’t expect much change from the £120,000 (US$220,000) estimated selling price.

The new Bentley will most likely share the 6.0 litre Twin Turbo W12 engine from the Continental GT, which in the coupe develops 560 HP. No word on whether this ouput will remain the same for the SUV. A concept vehicle may make a showing at next year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
