  • Preview of GAS GTR-1 supercar inspired by the Ford GT

Californian tuner and top Ford dealer Galpin Auto Sports, otherwise known as GAS, will build a limited run of supercar models that draw their inspiration from the Ford GT built between 2005 and 2006. The new supercar will be called the GTR-1 and it will deliver more than 1,000 horsepower, presumably through the rear wheels. Based on the Ford GT, rather than the Mustang GT as reported by Autoblog, the GAS GTR-1 promises supercar performance matched with supercar looks. Unique to the GTR-1 will be a modern interpretation of the Ford GT body, built from either aluminum or carbon fiber depending...

  • 2013 Subaru BRZ and 2013 Scion FR-S

If you’re in the market for a new Subaru BRZ, you’ve probably come to the realization that the rear-drive sport coupes are in extremely short supply. With demand outpacing deliveries, U.S. Subaru dealers have been asking for additional inventory since the car went on sale in April. Unsure of BRZ interest in the United States, Subaru originally opted to import just 6,000 units annually, or about 500 per month. That’s nowhere near demand, and in the words of Subaru of America COO Tom Doll, “We are selling all the BRZ’s we can get. We’ve been sold out since...

New Saleen 351 Mustang Announced In Los Angeles

Now that Steve Saleen is back to leading the company that bears his name, it makes perfect sense to reintroduce iconic products from the builder’s past. The current Saleen Mustang, which gets its power from a 302 cubic-inch (5.0-liter) engine, is well established, so the company has chosen...

  • 2014 Porsche Cayman

Porsche’s completely-redesigned 2013 Boxster was a major step forward for the German brand, and it looks like the all-new 2013 Cayman will offer the same progress in a hard-top version. The new car certainly looks better (in our eyes, anyway), and we’ll tell you exactly how much better it is to drive as soon as we get some seat time. For now, the new Cayman offers buyers the choice of a 2.7-liter flat-six good for 275 horsepower (in base models), or a 3.4-liter flat-six rated at 325 horsepower (in S models). While the new Cayman models are more fuel efficient than those of the...

Jaguar has just launched all-wheel-drive options on its XF and XJ sedans, which it hopes will make the cars more desirable in areas where winter means heavy snowfall, icy roads and slippery conditions. Part of the reason why it has taken Jaguar so long to offer an all-wheel-drive option is that its...

  • 1904 Simplex 60hp

Next year a brand new generation of the Mercedes-Benz S Class will be launched. The new car, the W222 series, will be the sixth generation of the S Class, but the tradition of large flagship sedans from Mercedes-Benz dates back much farther than just six generations. In fact, it goes all the way back to the early 1900s, a time when the Mercedes brand wasn't even in existence. Since then, however, the reputation of the brand for offering high-end vehicles with an emphasis on luxury, comfort and safety has been firmly established. It could be said that the S Class’ roots stretch right...
