  • Horrific Battlestar Galactica/Pagani Zonda/Corvette tuner mashup

This is a great example of too much money, too little taste. Clumsily marrying the aesthetics of the Pagani Zonda with Battlestar Galactica stickers, the Turkish owner/perpetrator of this "custom" Corvette has crossed a line. From the gigantic, ill-shaped diffuser to the poorly-aimed quad-mounted center-outlet exhaust tips to the wing that could provide shade for a village, there's so much wrong with this car we can hardly find a focal point for our consternation. Instead, we'll let the photos, available at the links below, speak for themselves. [Autogespot.com via CorvetteBlogger]

  • 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Engine Build Experience

If you're perplexed as to why anyone would pay $5,800 to build their own already-paid-for engine in a new 2011 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 or Z06, you're not alone. However, at next week’s SEMA event, show goers will get the chance to experience the live build of a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V-8 engine destined for a Corvette ZR1 supercar. That’s because Chevrolet will be exhibiting a “build your own” Corvette engine demonstration, an experience customers usually pay $5,800 for. While attendees of the SEMA show won’t actually be able to help build the engine--that...

Drunk Driver Parks Corvette In Emmy-Winning Puppeteer's Home

We're big fans of booze, in the right context. We think it's safe to say that context isn't behind the wheel of your C6 Corvette as you park it at speed in someone else's living room. But that's just what Pat Leeper, 63, appears to have done late last month in Burbank, CA. The house will require...

Video: Corvette Racing Episode 9, Training For Endurance

You might think sitting behind the wheel for a few hours is an easy way to earn a living, but you'd be wrong. Endurance racing in particular requires the ability to focus at almost superhuman levels for hours while fighting heat, g forces, the effort of driving the car, and, of course, the rest of...

  • 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition

With the current ZR-1 supercar already priced above $100,000, the question remains whether General Motors should push the Corvette into the upper echelon of the performance market or allow it to remain somewhat affordable to the average Joe--at least in base spec. Rumors of the Corvette getting a more exotic mid-engine platform are rife, but according to GM there is no mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette planned. That’s the word from GM's top global engineer, Karl-Friedrich Stracke, who flat out stated during an interview with AutoWeek that news of a mid-engine Corvette was...
