The BMW/Rahal Letterman Racing team may have taken the overall American Le Mans Series driver's and team championships this year, but Corvette Racing continues to learn--and to win where it can.

Petit Le Mans, the 10-hour or 1,000-mile season closer held each year at Road Atlanta, turned out to be one of those places, with Corvette's #4 car, piloted by Olvier Gavin, Jan Magnussen, and Emmanuel Collard taking the top podium spot. The #3 car met some trouble during the race and fell back to sixth in class.

But despite the strong showing, it wasn't enough to overcome BMW's consistently strong season, ending the points race for manufacturers in fourth, 21 points behind winning BMW, and 18 points behind third place Ferrari.
