This week Aston Martin took the covers off what is arguably the world’s sexiest convertible currently on offer, the 2014 Vanquish Volante. The car’s smooth, almost muscular surfaces make it look good from virtually every angle, while the interior is as cossetting and inviting as any other luxury car on the market.
That sexy body is all carbon fiber, too, which alone makes the Vanquish Volante a contender for our latest This Week’s Top Photos post.
But we haven’t even got to the best part yet. Under the hood lies a burly 6.0-liter V-12, which rates at 565 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. It helps the car achieve 0-60 mph acceleration in around 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph.
Sadly, the new Aston Martin Vanquish Volante won’t be available this summer. It only arrives in showrooms early in the new year.
In the meantime, you can get a feel of its performance by reading our First Drive report on the 2014 Vanquish coupe.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG may not be as striking as the Aston, but it has its own charm and is not too far off the pace despite costing only one sixth of the price. We recently drove the car and found it to need just 4.5 seconds to reach 60 mph from rest.

This weekend is the 81st running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The green flag has just been waved and we’re looking forward to announcing the various winners from each of the classes. One of the strongest contenders this year in the GTE classes is Aston Martin, which has a stunning five-car lineup.

Another car competing this year at Le Mans is the SRT Viper, in GTS-R form. This week we saw another Viper race car revealed, however, the new Viper GT3-R, which you can own if you happen to have half a million dollars lying around.

Chevrolet finally confirmed some performance specs for the much-anticipated 2014 Corvette Stingray this week. At the same, the automaker also showed the car on a race track, in these two new colors.

This is one of the first photos of a prototype of an upcoming sports car that will succeed the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Code-named the C190, the new car won’t be a direct replacement for the SLS AMG, as it looks to be smaller and is reported to cost less.

It may not be the best look for a Bugatti Veyron, though there’s no doubting this gold chrome-wrapped example will cause even more heads to turn whenever it cruises down the road. That road is likely to be somewhere in Florida, where its owner, rapper Flo Rida, keeps many of his cars.
