We've known for months now that the next issue from the Need For Speed video game series would feature the 2012 Porsche 911 (and the Lamborghini Aventador and Camaro ZL1, among many others). While the rest of the Web whinges about how the NFS series is an "also ran" or simply isn't their fanboy favorite Forza or GT5, we're just glad the Need For Speed series is still around.

You see, we grew up playing driving simulators when they were a new idea. Back when (realistically attainable home computers) displayed the game in only four colors. Back when you had to steer with the arrow keys because wheel and pedal sets didn't exist. And back then, it was Need For Speed or nothing.

NFS: The Run, on the other hand, is completely modern, with realistic car models and detailed racing environments--and it's the only one of the latest driving games that features the 2012 Porsche 911. If you can't like that, well, maybe you need some perspective.
