Here in the US, Olympic contenders depend heavily on corporate sponsorships. Between living expenses, equipment, coaching salaries, and the like, training for the biggest international sports competition requires not only time, energy, and talent, it also requires a lot of cash. Thankfully, BMW is planning to step up to the plate, and it's going to do so with Olympic speedskater (and Dancing With The Stars competitor) Apolo Anton Ohno at its side.

Details about BMW's sponsorship of Team USA haven't been released, but the company did issue this statement:

Announcement of a new, multi-year partnership between BMW Group and the United States Olympic Committee, in which BMW Group helps build Olympic spirit and year-round support of Team USA. BMW will also announce specific sponsorship plans within the Olympic Movement and how its support will enhance training and performance.

Sounds like a big win to Ohno and his colleagues.

Full details will be announced Monday at 11am EST.  Watch it live on BMW USA's news channel, or if you happen to be in the New York area, slide on down to BMW's Manhattan digs at the corner of 57th and 11th.
