Last summer, Volkswagen confirmed the Phaeton full-size, perhaps too-luxurious-for-the-brand, sedan would be returning to the U.S., but it didn't give us much of an idea as to when it would arrive. Despite exiting America, the Phaeton has continued sales elsewhere in the world; it hasn't been dead, just gone. The next generation of the car, due in 2015 according to CAR Magazine, could very well be the one we will get. Launching...

English stunt driver and general behind-the-wheel-badass Russ Swift once held the record for parallel parking a car in the smallest space between two others. He did it, naturally, in a Mini, with the aid of a handbrake turn. The German who just reset the new record in a considerably smaller space used the same technique. Ronny Wechselberger pulled off the parking stunt with just 26 centimeters more space than the length of his Volkswagen Polo. Swift had previously done it in 33 centimeters back in 2007 (video here) and it has been slowly edged down in 1-cm steps since. Who will be the next...

In May, we told you that the U.S. Department of Transportation was rolling out a new program to test vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) technology. In a nutshell, V2V is any technology that allows vehicles to "talk" to one another, and it offers considerable promise for reducing accidents and fatalities on the road.
