It wouldn’t be the Geneva Motor Show without some outrageous creation from Brabus and for this year’s event the German tuner hasn’t disappointed. Brabus has unveiled a new twin-turbocharged version of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG supercar that promises an output of 700 horsepower and 626 pound-feet of torque. In addition to the sledgehammer of a powerplant, the modified Merc has also been fitted with Brabus’ Widestar bodykit and a fully customized interior complete with ambient lighting. Getting back to the engine, Brabus engineers have developed a new twin-turbocharger...

2011 Fiat 500 Coupe Zagato Concept Live Photos: 2011 Geneva Motor ShowYou thought the Fiat 500 was small enough? Zagato disagrees, and has the hardware to prove it. The 500 Coupe Zagato does away with a healthy chunk of the standard 500's rear quarters, going instead with a sloping roof and spoiler to give it a more coupe-like profile. We say coupe-like because it's...

Gumpert Tornante By Touring Superleggera Preview: 2011 Geneva Motor ShowShedding its funky, lego-man exterior for a sleeker, Touring Superleggera-designed skin, Gumpert has moved past the Apollo and on to the Tornante. It's an upgrade, and it goes deeper than the surface. About 220 pounds lighter than the Apollo thanks in part of a carbon monocoque and composite body...

Yes, it may look a bit like an Isuzu Impulse, but it's actually one of two takes on the next-generation of Volkswagen small cars: the Italdesign Giugiaro Tex Concept. We think it has a bit of Scirocco in it, too, and that's certainly not a bad thing. It also has a bit of a plug-in hybrid drivetrain: a 1.4-liter gasoline turbo engine paired with a 114-horsepower electric motor and 237-horsepower combined output. VW and Italdesign claim the Tex is good for 62 mph in six seconds, a figure that's believable given the small size, strong power, and likely light weight. A hybrid hatch that sounds...

Subaru Boxer RWD Sports Car Preview: 2011 Geneva Motor ShowThe Toyota FT-86 II is soaking up yet more autoshow limelight, despite having been little more than a circuit regular for over a year now. Subaru's version of the rear-drive platform looks at least as promising, and about half as ... awkward. Sporting a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated boxer engine...

Toyota is certainly drawing out the development of its new rear-wheel drive sports car, having first shown a concept of its future model back in 2009 and now two years later showing yet another concept of it. Of course, we’re talking about the FT-86, which at this week’s 2011 Geneva Motor Show has been renamed the FT-86 II and becomes a little more stylized. Toyota has confirmed that the FT-86 II is the strongest indication yet of how its new sports car will look, and that designers have unashamedly looked to Toyota’s sports cars of the past, such as the legendary 2000 GT of...

2011 Volkswagen Bulli Concept Live Photos: 2011 Geneva Motor ShowThe bus is back! Well, sort of, anyway. The Volkswagen Bulli Concept shows that VW hasn't forgotten its long-cube roots. It may even be planning a revisitation of them. This all-electric concept certainly points toward an intriguing vision of what that might look like. Despite its microbus...

2012 Porsche Panamera S Hybrid Live Photos: 2011 Geneva Motor ShowA couple of weeks ago, we made the case that the 2012 Porsche Panamera S Hybrid is the best value in the performance/luxury hybrid game, despite its $95,900 starting price. We stand by that analysis, as the new Panamera S Hybrid even manages to look good--as good as any Panamera, anyway--in the...

2011 Alfa Romeo 4C Concept Live Photos: 2011 Geneva Motor ShowPacking the beauty of Alfa's 8C Competizione into a much smaller package, the itty-bitty Alfa Romeo 4C Concept is 200 horsepower of 1.75-liter turbo four-cylinder goodness wrapped in mid-engine KTM X-Bow handling with a frothy Italian topping. We want it. Fortunately, Alfa is going to build it for...
