The Rolex 24 at Daytona is now over for the year, and while the prototypes may be the nominal headliners, it’s the GTD field—the real cars—that capture our attention. Prior to the race, Audi ran hot laps around the race circuit in two very real cars: the bone-stock, street legal 2015 Audi R8 V10 Plus and the 2015 Audi S3.

While we’ve known and loved the R8 V10 Plus for some time here at Motor Authority, and our editors have driven the S3 as well, it was my first exposure to the S3’s charms—and they are, indeed charming.
