Mercedes-Benz announced a round of updates for its iconic G-Class off-roader this week. While the big news was the addition of a new V-8 engine in the G550 model, the G63 from the Mercedes-AMG performance division also received some extra horsepower from its own V-8.
2016 BMW 3-Series
The BMW 3-Series has just undergone its mid-cycle refresh and will arrive in showrooms in updated form later this year, as a 2016 model. There are few visual tweaks on the outside but under the skin there's a vast list of changes. Importantly, some of the changes have filtered across to the high-performance M3.
Kahn Design WB12 Vengeance based on the Aston Martin DB9
British firm Kahn Design this week revealed its new WB12 Vengeance GT based on the Aston Martin DB9. The body, which is almost entirely made of aluminum, is crafted by hand and is meant to invoke a sabretooth out on the prowl.

The convertible version of Ferrari’s new 488 GTB supercar was spotted testing in Italy this week. Some possible names for the open-top version include 488 Spider and 488 GTS. A video of the car reveals the awesome sound of its twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V-8.
Freightliner Inspiration Truck self-driving truck concept
Daimler gave us a glimpse at the future of road transport this week with its Freightliner Inspiration Truck. The concept truck is capable of driving completely on its own on the highway, and is currently testing in the state of Nevada where it's just been granted a license.
Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo concept
Peugeot’s concept for the Vision Gran Turismo challenge is an 875-horsepower, 875-kilogram (1,929-pound) supercar that the French automaker claims, if built, would be quicker than a Formula One car. Think 0-62 mph in under 2.0 seconds and a top speed in excess of 200 mph. Sadly, such a car will never be built, at least by Peugeot.

We once again spotted a prototype for the all-new Jaguar F-Pace. The new Jag will take on the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC (GLK-Class replacement) in the premium small SUV segment, and we should see the covers come off at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show in September. So far it looks just like the stunning C-X17 concept car that previewed it, right down to the muscular creases adorning its flanks.
2016 Dodge Viper ACR
The Dodge Viper ACR is back for the 2016 model year, and it’s faster and more brutal than ever. Dodge promises the new car is faster than the one it replaces, so expect a Nürburgring lap time below the 7:12.13 set by the previous model.
