Sports cars are on the upswing today, with the revised 2014 Chevrolet Corvette leading the way. Weighing it at an estimated 3,298 pounds, the seventh-generation Corvette Stingray could be just 90 pounds heavier than the previous Corvette--despite being faster, more powerful, and more luxurious.

The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo may also have its own set of changes as it joins the 991 platform. One of those changes could be the absence of a manual transmission, much like the 2014 911 GT3. Do you care? Should you?

And the 2014 Nissan 370Z NISMO gets a milder range of updates, mostly aesthetic and aerodynamic, for the new model year. We'll be up-close and personal with the new NISMO Z soon, so look for our take on the changes in the coming days.

You'll find all of this and more in today's car news headlines from around the High Gear Media network right here at Motor Authority.
