Today’s console and computer games often have as much plot and back story as a Hollywood action flick, and the various iterations of Electronic Arts’ Need For Speed series is no exception to this rule--so it shouldn’t have been much of a surprise that the popular video game series would eventually be turned into a movie.

Yes, the highly anticipated Need For Speed movie is almost here, airing nationwide on March 14. Here’s a look at some of the awesome machinery that will be shown on screen; cars like the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Koenigsegg Agera, Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, McLaren P1, Saleen S7, and even a rare GTA Spano. As we’ve already documented, there will also be a brand new 2015 Ford Mustang GT as well as a heavily modified 2014 model with a wide-body kit.

But, like much in Hollywood, things aren’t always what they seem. Many of the cars are actually replicas, which makes sense considering many of them get destroyed in the movie. The video above shows some the supercar replicas being built, more than 15 of them in fact, and reveals the insane level of detail the producers go to in order to ensure everything looks legit.

Interestingly, there are some pretty hot cars being built for the movie that won’t even be shown on screen, as revealed in the video below. These are camera cars, which have to be just as quick as some of the supercars they’re chasing. One is a heavily modified Mustang and, believe it or not, another is a Ferrari 458 Italia!
