Just days after his thrilling race in the Brazilian GP and subsequent retirement, Schumacher has been given the gift of a private island from the crown prince of Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum gave Schumacher one of the man-made islands that make up The World, a collection of islands off the coast of Dubai that have been made to look like, you guessed it, the World. We've always thought that Dubai was the kind of city that only a James Bond villain could come up with, and this bizarre project only confirms our suspicions.

Apparently Schumacher’s island will be part of Antarctica on the artificial globe, and is estimated to be worth $7 million. Schumacher’s manager, Willi Webber, suggested he might build a kart track on it.
