We’re sure most readers will have their own private list of hated cars but we bet few and far between would have every car on that list be from one of the Detroit 3. The same can’t be said for the guys who claim to be all things honest about the auto industry, so let’s take a look at who made this year’s list of the ten worst cars sold in the U.S.

10. Saturn Ion

Shoddy build quality, dull design and a tacky interior were all described as being traits of the Saturn Ion. We’re surprised it came in at only tenth place.

9. Chrysler Aspen

We were left wondering how the Chrysler Aspen was spared from Chrysler’s recent product cuts and it seems the guys at TTAC were too.

8. Chevrolet TrailBlazer / GMC Envoy / Isuzu Ascender / Saab 9-7X

This quartet should have been dropped years ago and we’re not the least bit surprised the TTAC agrees.

7. Hummer H2

There aren’t many cars more politically incorrect at the moment than the H2 but you couldn’t seriously buy this car without expecting some flak.

6. Hummer H3

It seems Hummer can’t do anything right but in fairness we could think of betters cars for this list than the H2. The H3 on the other hand is a definite yes.

5. Chevrolet Uplander

This vehicle made it on the top ten worst cars list in back to back years and thankfully it won’t get a chance to make next year’s list.

4. Dodge Nitro

The Nitro is another vehicle we thought could have been spared from this list but its “rough-running, gas-guzzling, hard-shifting and sloppy handling” ensures it stays.

3. Chevrolet Aveo

There aren’t many cars on sale in the U.S. that feel as cheap as the Aveo, and it seems a lot of readers at TTAC agreed with this.

2. Chrysler Sebring

The Sebring is a born rental car. It’s hideous in a deeply bland sort of way and the dull cabin and poor dynamics were enough to get it into the number two spot.

1. Jeep Compass

The number one reason why this car came in as the worst is “the fact that this re-skinned all wheel-drive Dodge Caliber wears the storied Jeep badge.”
