The days of using of test dummies for crash simulations may be over if Toyota and GM have their way. The two fierce rivals are actually working together on a proposal that would allow all the tests to be done using a computer simulation. The benefit this system would have is telling companies the exact wounds occupants would have in a crash. Our sick fascination with damaged exotic supercars continues, this time featuring a Lamborghini Murcielago that was involved in an accident with two other cars. The big bull was involved in a smash with three other cars and a bus and the ensuing chaos shut down part of Wolverhampton, a city in the West Midlands. The £190,000 Lambo smashed into a Rover 45 and Toyota Avensis, reports the Express & Star newspaper. Land Rover is considering rebranding its recently launched Freelander 2 (A.K.A. LR2) SUV as a Range Rover to improve its perception as a luxury vehicle. Land Rovers are considered to be utilitarian vehicles in all countries, but more so in some than others. In parts of Europe, for example, a buyer may look down upon the Land Rover branded Freelander when comparing it to premium marques such as BMW. The other reason behind the name change would be to allow the Freelander to punch above its weight in terms of prestige despite being priced below many comparable vehicles. An European spokesperson...
