BMW’s new M4 GTS has already been shown to the public but the first appearance in the United States is at this week’s 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. If you’re interested, be prepared to pony up $134,200, which includes a $995 destination charge.

That may seem steep but recall that only 700 of the cars will be built for worldwide sale, with just 300 of these earmarked for the U.S. And even with the hefty premium over the $65k starting price of the stock M4, we wouldn’t be surprised if all the cars are already spoken for.

In case you’ve forgotten, the M4 GTS packs a water injection system aimed at boosting power while at the same time curbing fuel consumption. Peak output from the track-focused coupe is an impressive 493 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, and all of this is routed to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and limited-slip differential.

BMW quotes a blistering 0-60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds. Top speed is a tick under 190 mph and a lap of the Nürburgring takes just 7:28.

The first M4 GTS coupes reach showrooms next spring.
