The all-new Cadillac CTS is an utterly impressive car—perhaps even more so than its predecessor, which reawakened the world’s recognition of the brand as a true luxury car company. Soon, an all-new CTS-V will join the upgraded CTS, but in the meantime, a special edition model of the 2015 CTS-V Coupe will find 500 lucky owners.

To be built during the second half of 2014, the 2015 CTS-V Coupe special edition will include the usual magnetic ride control dampers, Brembo brakes, and the monstrous, melodious 556-horsepower supercharged LSA V-8 engine. In addition, it will get exclusive Ebony leather interior with red contrast stitching, Recaro seats, metal pedals, microfiber suede steering wheel and shift knob covers, satin graphite wheels, red brake calipers, and a handful of other aesthetic tweaks.

Exterior color options are limited to Crystal White, Phantom Gray, and Black Diamond. Both automatic and manual versions can be ordered.

Just 500 units of this generation’s final CTS-V Coupes will be built, starting from $72,195 (including destination fee).

While the 2015 CTS-V Coupe special edition is an appearance upgrade package, hints at what to expect of the next-generation CTS-V come from Cadillac’s chief marketing officer, Uwe Ellinghaus, who said in a release, “The special edition is a stepping stone to the next-generation V-Series, which will move to the next level with more dynamic design and technical sophistication.”
