The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class represents the current pinnacle of automotive technology available. Mercedes engineers and designers go to great lengths to make sure that the S-Class remains the vehicle that pushes vehicular possibilities forward.

That doesn't mean the car leaves the factory exactly as every soon-to-be owner likes it. There are extra bits of kit that can make the purchase experience both more enjoyable and more expensive. Here then is a look at just some of the accessories available for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

There's the standard stuff like optional wheel choices. But then you move into the not-so-standard, like the new fragrance system. It can be turned on or off, and there are four different scents to choose from. The standard is called Freeside, which smells of citrus and tea with floral overtones. From there you can choose to have the car in Nightlife, Downtown, or Sport modes, er, smells.

Beyond the smells and the wheels, the S-Class can be fitted with white-light illuminated door sills and a rear spoiler. For passengers in the back, a Mercedes-Benz branded pillow and blanket are available, and if said passengers have the sniffles you can provide them with a tissue from the black calfskin tissue box. Mercedes-Benz is offering more than what we've listed here. This is merely a taste of the good life that awaits buyers plunking down their cash for the 2014 S-Class.

No wonder the Maybach is dead...
