In F1 news, BMW has confirmed Germany's Nick Heidfeld and Poland's Robert Kubica as the team’s race drivers for the 2007 Formula One season. Test driving duty will be relegated to 19-year-old German Sebastian Vettel, who will also be the official reserve driver.

Heidfeld's contract was already confirmed for the 2007 season, while Kubica, Poland’s first F1 driver, was likely picked after his excellent performance during his past five races. Particularly impressive was his third place finish in the Italian GP, which gave him the distinction of being the first Polish driver to appear on a Formula One podium. After starting at the front of the back-runners, the BMW-Sauber team has been slowly improving its pace. We look forward to seeing what they're capable of next year.
