Chrysler is on the verge of deciding whether the Imperial concept shown at this year’s Auto Show in Detroit will be built. Automotive News is reporting that Frank Klegon, product development chief at Chrysler, has delivered all necessary documents to senior management about the car and its production feasibility, and that a decision will be made by Q1 2007 at the latest.

Bearing more than a passing resemblance to the Rolls Royce Phantom, the Imperial is built on the same LX platform as the 300 and will be powered by a range of HEMI V8s. If it’s greenlit, we can expect the Imperial to hit dealerships in 2009.
