George Parrott, Contributor

Since 2011, George Parrott has driven a Nissan Leaf, a Chevrolet Volt, and a 2013 Tesla Model S. Those electric cars followed a Toyota Prius and Toyota Camry Hybrid, starting in 2004, that he bought to do his part in improving air quality. They followed a specially ordered Oldsmobile 4-4-2, then a series of economy cars from Honda, Mazda, Nissan, and Toyota. As of February 2015, he drives a new 2015 Tesla Model S P85D. In the rest of his life, Parrott is a retired professor of psychology at California State University--Sacramento, and he has had visiting appointments in Australia, Poland, along with Fulbright assignments in Manchester and Warsaw. He has been a fanatic runner for almost 30 years, and has finished more than 130 marathons and 40 ultra-marathons.
