Already one of the most desirable cars in production, Mercedes-Benz’s S-Class Coupe gets a little more lustworthy with a new Night Edition treatment.

The S-Class Coupe Night Edition is a limited edition version of the stunning coupe that Mercedes will introduce next month at the 2017 Detroit auto show.

The highlight is the matte gray paint finish offered by the Designo Manufaktur personalization department. The paint is called Selenite Gray Magno and features special treatments to create a unique effect. The car also gets gloss black accents on its grille, side mirror caps and side sills. The wheels, in this case 20-inch light alloys from Mercedes-AMG, are also finished in gloss black.

The gloss black theme continues inside where the designers have applied the finish to the wood dash accents. A final touch is an engraved “Night Edition” script on the steering wheel, in this case an AMG sports steering wheel lined in Nappa leather.

The S-Class Coupe Night Edition goes on sale next August, as a 2018 model. It’s being introduced ahead of an updated version of the S-Class Coupe due for the 2019 model year.

The Detroit auto show opens its doors January 9, 2017. Learn about some of the other vehicles set to appear by visiting our dedicated hub.
